Frequently Asked Questions

Members of PPI Irlandia consist of all Indonesian students in Ireland. The Indonesian students who join PPI Irlandia vary from undergraduate (Bachelor’s), Master’s, and PhD students. There are also friends from Erasmus Master’s programs and exchange students.

All students will be included in the Active Student Community of PPI Irlandia (Pelajar Aktif PPI Irlandia). All active students in PPI Irlandia have the right to vote in the PPI Irlandia presidential election, to join as active committee members, and to advance themselves as president of PPI Irlandia for a one-year term.

Alumni can join the PPI Irlandia group. This group is open to alumni and students in Ireland to maintain relationships and connections with one another.

Here are some of the activities that PPI Irlandia organizes every year:

  1. Halalbihalal
    Halalbihalal is held annually in Ireland. This event is a collaboration between all Indonesian organizations in Ireland. It usually takes place after the month of Ramadan. The event is created to strengthen the bond among the Indonesian community in Ireland. Usually, attendees bring their own food since this event is in the form of a potluck. In 2025, PPI Irlandia also participated by selling official merchandise for the entire Indonesian community in Ireland.

  2. Pesta Rakyat (IndoFest)
    In August, PPI Irlandia and other Indonesian organizations will hold the Indonesia Independence Day celebration. This is the highlight event of the year. The event will be filled with traditional Indonesian songs and dances, as well as various traditional Indonesian games. It is also an opportunity for friends who want to do business, such as selling food to the attendees of the Pesta Rakyat event.

  3. PRISMA (Probe and Criticism on Scientific Paper)
    PRISMA is a great platform for Indonesian students in Ireland who want to share what they have learned during their studies in Ireland. This event is held online so that students or friends who are in Indonesia can also participate and watch.

  4. Ajakan PPI Irlandia
    Ajakan PPI Irlandia (PPI Irlandia Invitation) is a new program launched by PPI Irlandia in 2025. This program is an invitation from PPI Irlandia for Indonesian students in Ireland to gather. Examples of Ajakan PPI Irlandia activities include breaking the fast together (Buka Puasa) in each county and trips to Dundalk county. These events aim to increase closeness among friends in Ireland.

Here are some programs by PPI Irlandia to support Indonesian students:

  • Incoming Student Ticket: A new program launched by the PPI Irlandia in 2025, this series provides important information for incoming students of PPI Irlandia. The key information usually covers topics such as accommodation, visas, and other preparations before departure.
  • Koordinator Wilayah: Regional Coordinators act as contact persons for each county in Ireland. They serve as the first point of assistance for friends in each county in case of emergencies.
  • Housing Database: Due to the difficulty of finding accommodation in Ireland, PPI Irlandia publishes a Housing Database, which is a collection of houses passed down from other Indonesian students. This database is exclusive for PPI Irlandia members only.
  • Paid Viewing Service: Also newly launched in 2025, PPI Irlandia’s first paid service is the Viewing Service. This service is very helpful for friends who are still in Indonesia or who are unable to view accommodation in person. PPI Irlandia offers viewing services that fit student budgets.

The committee members of PPI Irlandia is open to active Indonesian students who will stay in Ireland for at least one year (it is not open to Erasmus and exchange students who stay for only one semester). Registration is usually opened every year after the election of the new president.

Yes! There are many other Indonesian communities in Ireland besides PPI Irlandia. Here is a list of Indonesian communities in Ireland:
